When I photographed this barn in 2018, its open hayloft, missing boards, sun-bleached wood, and gently leaning roofline told the story of a structure shaped by decades of work and weather. A lone tree and clear blue Arkansas sky bring a quiet balance to its timeworn character.

Haunted Barn does not rely on darkness for its presence. The beauty is in the honest wear of the wood, the gaps in the siding, and the quiet evidence of time. Presented behind polished acrylic, those details become a small but substantial piece of rural Arkansas history.

Field Note: One year after this photograph was created, the barn was destroyed by a tornado in October 2019. This image preserves its final chapter.
