It all began in the simplest of ways: as a mom, with a camera always in hand. Whether it was my boys’ sports games, school plays, or family trips, I never wanted to miss capturing a moment. Photography was my way of freezing time, of preserving memories that seemed to slip by all too quickly. At the time, I didn’t realize that this simple act of documenting life would eventually lead me to discover my true purpose.
Finding Meaning Through Photography
Years later, when my dad was diagnosed with vascular dementia, my relationship with photography changed. His diagnosis was a challenge, as his mind often drifted to times long past. Searching for ways to connect and comfort him, I began bringing him pictures—of family, of familiar places, and of moments he once cherished.
The effect was profound. My dad would sit and look at these photos for hours, and for a while, they seemed to bring him back. Through those images, I saw how photography had the power to spark joy, evoke memories, and create meaningful connections. That experience planted the seed for what Lisa Blount Photography would become.

Today, my photography is centered around the same idea: helping others connect with their own stories. I’ve expanded my work to include large, statement art pieces designed to transform spaces.
