Jenny Lake - Warming and Calming Nature and Landscape Mood Board

I'm obsessed with how this Grand Tetons National Park, Jenny Lake mood board turned out.   I want to see this room in real life!!   The beautiful blues, the beckoning landscape, the rocks - maybe as an accent wall (or better yet - a fireplace!!).😍.  This could be such a cozy study, living room, man-cave (which women would also enjoy being in!), or office.

I'm basically sitting on top of my heater as the weather changes to much cooler temperatures than I like - so this room is speaking to me!   I really want to snuggle in on that couch, cling to those pillows (maybe add a throw) and stare into a warm

I proudly present .....  The Color of Jenny Lake!

Love the Contrast!

As I looked at this piece - and found that the darker the room - the more this piece POPPED off the wall.   I feel like I could just jump into that water - although it's freezing cold!!

Love the ART!

When you invest in ART, you want to showcase that art - and make sure it’s appreciated by others as much as you appreciate it!   As a fine art photographer, I have seen clients struggle with where to place pieces of art.  Clients love the piece of art, but they just aren’t sure how to incorporate it with their furniture, or how it could fit in a room or what decor could coordinate.  So I’ve created a possible grouping of furniture items to pair along with some of my art.   Allowing the visualization of art and furniture together to make a statement in your home or office.

If you’ve read my other blogs - you know the drill … here’s my steps and the links to where I found the items that I felt paired well with the ART.

5 Helpful steps to enhance your decor:

Select your focal point

Decide which piece(s) of art will be the focal point or inspiration point for the room/building.

The sizes offered on my site are 30x20 and 60x40, however custom sizing is available - so don’t let that stop your creativity!

Color of Jenny Lake - Featured art.

This art is available in either TruLife Acrylic or High Gloss Chromaluxe Metal.

The TruLife Acrylic is non-reflective/non-glare, it appears as though you’re looking through a window at the picture, and is a little more modern and contemporary.    I've put metallic paper behind it instead of the normal crystal paper - and I am obsessed with the look.   It makes the water shimmer - like I could literally touch it.   WOW!!!

The Chromaluxe Metal is a glossier, does reflect light but is cheaper.

You can’t go wrong with either one - it just depends on what your preference, style and budget can afford.   Both would be absolutely stunning, beautiful ... and bringing a bit of nature... INSIDE!

A little bit about this art: This art was taken on a long-weekend outing to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone (Wyoming).   We were social distancing and happened upon this beautiful lake.  I couldn't have asked for a better day to experience this gorgeous place, and am super excited to share it with you with this piece of ART!

Build a theme

The theme …. WARMING, SNUGGLE, RELAX!!

This piece is a true statement piece.   It needs a place to call its own, as it will definitely drive people to view the wall.  This art (and decor) calls you into the room, invites you to sit down and soak in the beauty of nature.   The calming and relaxing effect the piece of art adds to the room is just what the doctor ordered!

Create a Moodboard

Visualize the items together.   I do this by creating a moodboard.   Whether I pick these exact items or not - this gives me a starting place for options for the room, for the art, and my style.

Tweak it until you’re happy with it.

Not everyone’s style is the same - so incorporate YOU into it.   That will ensure that you love it!     Personally, I love nature and abstract, so that is what I have a tendency to lean towards.   Nature is calming for me - plus it's full of beautiful colors that occur.... naturally!

Start shopping!

I'm not gonna lie - this is my favorite part!!!   Especially when I order it ... it's like Christmas Day when the package arrives!!!    ... and I love Christmas!!!!

Below are the items that I selected to go with this art / mood board.   The resources are below, or feel free to be creative for your style.   I find that mood boards are recommendations or suggestions of the look you want.   You may start shopping and find a couch that is way more comfortable - but with the mood board, you have a look.   For example - you would probably not walk in with this mood board and settle on a bright yellow chair.    Or you might!

Either way - find something that you will LOVE!   Find something that is your style and your taste of decor.   Afterall, it is your home, study, office.... space!

The Color of Jenny Lake fine art is very relaxing and warming - and I have matched it with darker colors to create a cozy area.

This ART and decor for this feels very cozy and inviting.   A cozy den or man cave - complete with a fireplace, possibly a television.

Cozy on in with the DETAILS.....

I selected a dark leather couch - because why should we worry about spills, dirt etc getting on a couch, when we are there to relax!!

The leather couch from West Elm may feel cold, however when in this room with the throw pillows - it turns into a cozy little spot to sink down into.

I'm a fan of rugs.   If you have hardwood floors, rugs are warmer than the floors; if you have carpet, let's face it - you need a break from the pattern.   You need a  rug!    Plus, it adds color and coziness!
Aligning with the den or man cave theme, the room would be darker (no bright white walls here!).   I selected  Tricorn Black (or dark gray) walls.   The fireplace would be some type of dark gray rock.   If you have room in the budget, there's nothing better than the real thing.   I always prefer real to faux, but sometimes budget comes into play.

Cozy = Peaceful = Quiet = Reading!   This could definitely be a room with a big blanket and plenty of  books to read.

I also selected a contemporary, yet minimalist console table.   Because, lets face it, you can never have too much storage or places for sitty-roundy-stuff.

No room is complete without lights and plants.

I selected a beautiful, fun globe chandelier and potted plant.   (Because, let's be honest - what cozy room doesn't need some more nature!).   I admit that lately I've been very drawn to the chihuly style chandeliers - but I felt that was simply too much movement and pattern for this room.   A simple light (with a dimmer switch!) is the perfect win for this room.

This ties the room together (nature inside and out) as well as provides a beautiful space!

With this much dark space, depending on the number of windows or lighting that you use - you may want to light the picture, like in a gallery.   One option is the  SoLux 4700K Bulbs, which are universally recognized as the ultimate in D50 daylight simulation.

There you have it!    A finished room - ready for your enjoyment!!!
