Creative conversations with the Fine Art Photographer

Meet the Artist: Lisa Blount

Where memories, moments, and meaning come together through the art of photography.

Hi, I’m Lisa—photographer, storyteller, wife, mother, experience-chaser, cat-herder, and lover of all things nature and travel.

I don’t just take pictures. I create visual experiences that spark connection, bring joy, and turn a house into a home.

For me, art has never just been about capturing something pretty—it’s about capturing something personal. The way the light hits a quiet mountainside, the colors swirling through lichen on a rock, the stillness of a place that made you feel something you can’t quite explain. That’s what draws me in.

Since art is a true reflection of what the artist sees, feels, and interprets—it is, at its core, a reflection of oneself... through their art.

Lisa Blount Experience Photographer and Fine Art

A Little Backstory

Born in California, raised in Arkansas, I’ve lived within seven miles of my grandparents’ 1936 homestead since I was ten. As an only child of an only child, I spent a lot of time creating—scrapbooking, designing, collecting memories, and turning them into keepsakes. That early creative spark still fuels me today. My love of photography started young (I was the kid with disposable cameras on every trip), but it really took off about 20 years ago before a family vacation to Yellowstone. I bought my first “real” camera for that trip—and that’s when everything changed. I began seeing the world differently—through textures, light, movement, and mood—and I haven’t stopped since.

Why I Create

My art is personal, and always rooted in experience. When my boys were young, I photographed our adventures so they could relive the memories in scrapbooks. As my parents aged—especially my dad, who battled vascular dementia—I began using photography as a way to preserve his memories, too.  Pictures keep you from forgetting - family picture at Christmas 2013

Watching him reconnect with faces and places through photos reminded me that art is about more than beauty—it’s about meaning, memory, and the moments that matter most.

That’s when Lisa Blount Photography took on a deeper purpose.

What Makes My Art Different

It’s not just a photo. It’s a feeling.  Lisa Blount, Photographer, action shot in Yosemite National Park

I call myself an Experience Photographer because my work goes beyond the  lens. Each piece is meant to evoke emotion, spark reflection, and create a connection—whether it’s to a place you’ve been, a dream you hold, or a memory you never want to forget.

Scale matters.  Lisa Blount gallery wall featuring large limited edition and best selling fine art photography wall decor by

Most of my art is created large—like, several-feet-wide large—because seeing it on your wall is a completely different experience than seeing it on a screen. It’s bold. It’s immersive. It’s meant to stop you in your tracks.

Museum-quality materials only.

I print exclusively on premium materials like TruLife Acrylic, ChromaLuxe High Gloss Metal, and Dibond Brushed Metal—each chosen for their ability to bring out color, depth, and detail in a way that feels alive. Every piece is custom-crafted and digitally signed for authenticity.

The Personal Side

Family first. Always.

I’ve been married to my husband Jim for over 30 years, and together we’ve raised two incredible sons who (in my completely unbiased opinion) hang the moon. They’ve been a part of this journey every step of the way—as travel companions, equipment carriers, art installers, and my biggest supporters.  Blount family picture

They’re also my why. They inspire me to keep creating, keep growing, and keep telling stories through art.

What Do I Love to Photograph?

Honestly? Whatever catches my eye. I never force a shot—I wait for the moment to unfold. I’m especially drawn to nature, abstract patterns, textures, and color.  Abstract metal wall art depicting vibrant green lichen and moss patterns on tree bark, titled 'Tree Lichen.'

And lichen—yes, lichen! It’s like nature’s tiny abstract painting, and I’m obsessed.

Art + Design = The Perfect Pairing

Art isn’t just for walls—it’s part of how a space feels. That’s why I’ve created mood boards that pair my artwork with color palettes, furnishings, and interior design styles. They live on my blog and are a great way to imagine how a piece might look in your space.

I also host exclusive Art, Wine & Design events in partnership with local designers. These invite-only evenings are filled with good conversation, beautiful spaces, and of course, lots of art. If you're an interior designer or art lover, let’s connect!

Q&A: The Art Buying Experience

Wondering how it all works? Let’s make your art buying journey easy, inspiring, and personalized. Below you'll find answers to the most common questions about materials, sizing, care, shipping, and more.

Everything You Need to Know

Isn’t it just a photo?

It starts as a photograph—but it becomes fine art. Every piece is carefully edited, professionally printed, and crafted with premium materials that bring out color, light, texture, and depth. My art is large, bold, and designed to be a focal point in your space.

What makes your work different from mass-produced prints?

Unlike mass-produced art, my pieces are custom-created and printed on museum-quality materials like TruLife Acrylic, ChromaLuxe Metal, and Dibond Brushed Metal. Every piece is digitally signed and made to order—bringing you a truly one-of-a-kind experience.

Do you offer limited editions?

Yes! I offer several limited edition pieces that are signed, numbered, and exclusive—making them collectible works of art for your space.

Is your art made in the USA?

Absolutely. Every piece is printed and assembled right here in the U.S., supporting multiple small businesses along the way.

Customization & Sizing

I don’t see the size I need—can you help?

Definitely! Most pieces can be custom-sized to fit your wall perfectly. Just reach out with your dimensions and I’ll be happy to provide a quote.

How do I choose the right size for my space?

A good rule of thumb: art should cover about ⅔ to ¾ of your wall space, or 60–75% of the furniture width it hangs above. You can also tape out sizes on your wall—or contact me for help. I even have a blog post all about it!

Do you offer framing?

Most of my art is designed to be displayed frameless with a museum-style float mount. But if you’d prefer a frame, I can custom quote one for you!

Caring for Your Art

How do I clean and care for my art?

It depends on the material:

  • TruLife Acrylic: Use a microfiber cloth and acrylic-safe cleaner (no ammonia).
  • High Gloss Metal: A damp microfiber cloth or water/alcohol mix works great.
  • Dibond Brushed Metal: A dry or slightly damp microfiber cloth does the trick.
  • Canvas: Dust gently; avoid moisture.

Need detailed tips? Visit my Cleaning + Care page.

How is the artwork installed?

All of my large artwork comes ready-to-hang with a museum float mount. No frame needed. Just use a sturdy wall cleat system (instructions included). And I’m always happy to help if you have questions!

Shipping, Returns & Gifting

How long does shipping take?

Since each piece is custom made just for you, production takes about 14 business days, with shipping around 5–7 days depending on your location. You’ll get tracking info as soon as it ships!

Do you ship internationally?

At the moment, I only ship within the U.S., but if you're international, reach out—I’m happy to check options and get you a quote.

What if my art arrives damaged?

If your piece is damaged during shipping, please contact me immediately with photos of the box and artwork. I’ll make it right and replace your piece at no cost to you.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes! Gift certificates are a great way to give the gift of art—especially when you're short on time or want your recipient to choose the piece that speaks to them most.
